Antique Fireplace Surround

We just finished installing this Antique Limestone Surround from France. There was a pile of left over Limestone patio pieces we re-purposed to use for the stone hearth. Only a small amount to pick from so we made wood templates first to be sure we had enough. (measure twice cut once). We are waiting for the Antique firebrick to arrive for the herringbone firebox and Inner Surround. I worked on this same house 23 years ago for the previous owner with my cousin Joseph DeMaria. The new owner is remodeling. New owner ... more stone. keeps us busy.

Good morning from DeMaria Masonry! On one of my earlier posts I showed an antique fireplace surround from France we installed and we were waiting for the antique firebrick to arrive. Well they did arrive and the first fireplace has been completed. It has a very unique 'Old World' style herringbone pattern in the fire box with a stack bond pattern made from the same brick for the inner surround. This master bedroom fireplace has a look that is quite original. If you click on the video below you'll see me with a short explanation of the overall build. Enjoy the pictures and Happy Memorial Day to All!!
